Shelter Box
Hi, looking over the blog I realised its a total mess so I'm doing group work posts so its easier for you to understand the projects I have worked on.
Shelter Box
This project was designed for the Shelter Box organization to advertise what they do and how they support people around the world who need aid.
The style that the
group had decided on was a cut out paper effetc
The idea that we produced for them was to have the Shelter Box (as a living being/box) itself gathers everything that the organisation put in their own shelter boxes. Then their would be various shots of green shelter boxes traveling to different destinations that have been disrupted by different natural disasters. For example earthquakes, volcanos, hurricanes and tsunamis.
Finally the box eventually arrives at its destination to help the people in need.
ITS ALIVE...ITS ALIVE.....MMMMHHHHHAAHAHA...HA.
These lovely concept pieces show the basics of what shelter box will look like as a living being.
This isn't too important but everyone loves cats so I thought I'd include it. This little rascal was used in the first idea we had to use a cat to explain what the purpose of the shelter box.
Now onto more of the idea we went with.
First I'll show you the concept art I did.
These lovely concept pieces show the basics of what shelter box will look like as a living being.
These are concept pieces that I did very quickly. They where later used in the animatic. Which I have put below.
We didn't get any negative feedback when we presented it and the positive things we got form it was positive feedback and a few pointers on how to make it even more fantastic.
Theses are some lovely parallaxes that I created in Photoshop. I also did one of the sea but that looked much nicer once I animated it. So I've added the sea one below.
I animated this lovely parallax with the boat containing shelter box in it. I drew everything in this scene apart from the shelter box herself/himself.
Boat.
I also did the parallax for both of these.
Again I created everything apart from the shelter box himself/herself for the first video.
However the second video consists of Rebecca Pearce Davie's work. She drew the background and the mule.
I animated the parallax and animated the mule (Rebecca gave me the walk cycle of the mule to put in) along with the shelter box.
It was a wonderful collaborative piece.
We where all pleased and happy with the result of final animation.
The only thing we could have done better was the sound and some more animation to make the scenes more.
This is why I did the following to one of the scenes.
